Green Lantern's New Home is New Orleans

MAKE UP YOUR MIND, WARNER BROS! Not even a week ago it was announced that due to the fact that the American dollar fails to be worth anything more than a dirty Kleenex in any other country but our own, WB was forced to pull their production of the Ryan Reynolds superhero vehicle Green Lantern out of Australia. They stated in a release that they were looking for a new home in Mexico or Canada, but according to The Times-Picayune it looks like they'll be filming right here in the good ole U.S. of A.

At the not-even-completed Second Line Stages in New Orleans, studio manager Kevin Murphy confirmed that although there are still some nails to be put in the walls, Green Lantern is set to jump in the second construction is completed, which could be as early as next week. Though details are still being ironed out, Second Line has been given a non-refundable deposit for the space, so it looks like all we're waiting on is a few more signatures and a press release from Warner Bros.

The production will be eating jambalaya until about August of next year before it goes into post to wrap everything up for its June 17, 2011 release. And on that note, as much as I enjoy Ryan Reynolds, I think I've had enough news about him and his productions in the past week to last me until at least Christmas.
