The summer season may be behind us, but that doesn't mean that Hollywood is done pumping out huge blockbusters in 2014. We are now less than a month away from the release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, and Lionsgate has sent out a rather epic new trailer to get you prepared.
The Hunger Games films we've seen so far have certainly set up an interesting looking sci-fi world, but it looks like the second sequel in the franchise is upping the scale in some very significant ways. In both The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, most of the worst brutality is contained within the arena, but in this movie it looks like the world of Panem is going to become a war zone. This has also served to increase the drama of the situation. I'm not going to lie and say that I didn't get a wide grin on my face when we hear Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) call out President Snow (Donald Sutherland) with her message: "If we burn, you burn with us!"
Directed by Francis Lawrence and based on the third and final book in the Hunger Games trilogy, Mockingjay - Part 1 picks up after the cataclysmic events at the end of Catching Fire and finds Katniss thrust into a leadership role at the start of the rebellion against the Capitol. Working with a team of both new and old allies, she finds herself not only fighting for the freedom of the citizens of Panem, but also to try and save Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), who has been taken prisoner. The impressive supporting cast also includes Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright , Sam Claflin, Jena Malone and Stanley Tucci.
The launch of this new trailer - which is appropriately titled "Burn - isn't the only interesting Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 story we have for you today either. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 will be in theaters worldwide on November 21st, and it's direct sequel, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, which will also be the franchise finale, is scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 20, 2015.
