Kidman And Eckhart Head Down The Rabbit Hole

Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart are heading down the rabbit hole. No, there’s not another Alice in Wonderland adaptation going on (other than Burton’s version in production with Disney). The two will be starring in an adaptation of the stage play, Rabbit Hole, reports Production Weekly.

The stage play, penned by David Lindsay-Abaire, tells a story of loss and mourning, centering around the accidental death of a child. Be prepared to cry heavily, as I can’t find a review of the stage production that doesn’t mention copious amounts of tears, particularly in reference to the original production, which starred Cynthia Nixon.

The play received quite a bit of acclaim, including the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The movie adaptation will be directed by John Cameron Mitchell, with Lindsay-Abaire handling the adaptation of his own work.
