After Spaced, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Paul and The World's End, English comedian Nick Frost is branching out from his partnership with Simon Pegg, headlining the upcoming comedy Cuban Fury. Inspired by an original concept of Frost's, the film centers on Bruce Garrett, who at the age of 13 was a child prodigy in the world of competitive salsa dancing; that is until a bizarre bit of bullying robs the fleet-footed teen of his confidence. Cut to 22 years later and Bruce is a paunchy man, played by Frost, who is urged to return to the dance floor in hopes of dazzling his new, beautiful American boss and winning her heart.

Over the summer a video blog gave us a look behind the scenes of this wild romantic comedy that co-stars Parks and Recreations' Rashida Jones (seen below) as Frost's crush-inducing supervisor, Bridesmaids' Chris O'Dowd as his romantic rival, and Ian McShane as his surely surly dance instructor. Now, Collider has scored some production stills from the recently wrapped American Film Market, which you can check out below.

A shot of Frost and O'Dowd promises their conflict won't be purely verbal. This is a fight scene, right? I'm imagining it being of the variety in Bridget Jones's Diary, where the two very charming men actually have no idea how to fight in a manly fashion. Good times.

You have to admit, in the shot below, Frost has got some serious swagger going on, sequin shirt or no. Of course it'll be interesting to see if he can actually dance. Hopefully, we'll get a glimpse with a trailer soon.

Cuban Fury will open in the United Kingdom and Ireland on March 22, 2013. No release date has yet been announced for the U.S.
