This week on Operation Kino, we've got our most exciting Segment 3 ever. Da7e and Patches sat down with The Track Team, the composing duo behind the music for Nickelodeon's upcoming series The Legend of Korra, to talk about their work as composers and premiere exclusive new tracks from the soundtrack of Korra, the sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender that premieres on Nickelodeon this year. Fans of the show will want to hear the music, of course, but anyone interested in composing music for film will want to hear The Track Team talk about their collaborative process, some of the instruments they're using on the soundtrack, and exactly how you break into the business of composing music for movies and TV anyway.
Beyond that, we've got a review of the new film Being Flynn, starring Paul Dano and Robert De Niro. And before any of that, we kick off with a lightning round dedicated to movie parties, then move on into tidbits, in which Da7e talks about the book that inspired John Carter, Edgar Rice Burroughs' A Princess of Mars, then David talks about the Australian crime film Snowtown, Patches talks about the video game The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and Katey breaks down what she thinks would make a better Oscar host than Billy Crystal.
