This week on Operation Kino, we are packing our pipes and hopping on board a pony, as we join a band of dwarves for an adventure in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. From there we start wrapping up the year in movies with our 2012 Superlatives, in which we pick the best on-screen chemistry, the best line of dialogue, the best movie title to shout when entering a party, and much much more. Before any of that, though, there's a lightning round inspired by The Hobbit, plus tidbits, in which David digs into the Qatsi trilogy on Criterion, Patches inexplicably watches Osombie, Da7e gets excited about some trailers, and Katey catches up with the Sundance hit Middle of Nowhere. We end, as always, with your lightning round answers for dessert.

Take a listen below and find your downloading options; for more from all of us, you can follow the show (@opkino), Da7e (@da7e), David (@davidehrlich or @CriterionCorner), Patches (@misterpatches) and Katey (@kateyrich) on Twitter.
