Still No One Loves Mandy Lane

You'd think given that we get some new Japanese horror remake every weekend, it wouldn't be hard to convince a studio to release a horror movie that's actually original. But Senator International, the studio behind All The Boys Love Mandy Lane, has delayed its release again. JoBlo says the intended May release has been pushed back to August.

The movie has been screening at various film festivals for the last year, and hasn't exactly gotten the best buzz. It's still apparently coming out in Europe early in the summer, but you can imagine if the buzz isn't good there either, we may see this poor movie delayed again. It's been pushed back over and over again since last July, and you've got to wonder at what point the studio would just give up and release it on DVD or put it in theaters with no promotion whatsoever.

Mandy Lane stars Amber Heard, who was part of the surprise martial arts hit Never Back Down. That should mean they'd want to cash in on her newfound fame (well, pseudo-fame) by releasing the film soon, but... well, maybe the movie's that bad? In any case, the horror fans who are still holding out hope that this movie will be good are going to have to hang on a little longer. Y'all may love Mandy Lane, but you seem to be the only ones for now.
