I got to hand it to Harry Knowles. Not only does he run a website, he also stars in the wildly popular ABC TV show, Lost.
Thankfully, this story has nothing to do with Harry Knowles. Although, I’m sure Harry will try to spin this news and steal credit from its rightful source.
Confirming the earlier story from the Latino Review, Bryan Singer has officially announced that Brandon Routh will be Superman. Hey he meets the description but we’ll have to reserve judgment on his acting skills.
What else did we learn today? For starters, they will not be making an origin movie, the movie will pick up somewhat after Superman 2 and In the next movie, Superman will be returning after being away for over 5 years. Singer was also allegedly to have said that he will definitely use John Williams’ soundtrack in the movie as well.
You need more don’t ya? Who are the rumored final six candidates for Lois Lane, you ask? Cinescape reports that Mischa Barton from "The O.C.", Charisma Charpenter from "Angel," Mia Kirshner from "The Crow: City of Angels," Evangeline Lilly from "Lost," Natalie Portman from the "Star Wars" prequels, and Keri Russell from "Felicity" are the finalists. Evangeline Lilly would be perfect but I bet Warner Brothers would LOVE to have Portman. Portman would at least provide some star power, I’m just not sure how much. And forget about any chick who has had a show on Fox or the WB. But if I was running Warner Brothers, the first thing I would do is hire Lily for this role. Well actually, the first thing I would do is fire Jon Peters, but that’s another rant!
Is that NOT enough baseless rumors for you? Damn, you guys are pushy! How about a Lex Luthor rumor? Some website that I can’t recall, reports that Kevin Spacey is high on the list to play the classic role that Gene Hackman made famous. Gee, I don’t know about this.. I’m sure McG would have cast Vin Diesel so I won’t complain too loudly.
