Weekend Box Office: Ride Along Threepeats Number One On Slow Superbowl Weekend

It was a quiet weekend at the box office, with only movie sneaking into double digits and that a move that's been at the top of the chart for three weekends in a row.

Ride Along held on to the number one spot, adding $12 million to is $92 million total. Frozen has been showing a James Cameron-esque ability to hold on to top box office positions, returning back to second place for this, its eleventh weekend in theaters. With this kind of staying power it's poised to break into the $400 million bracket and possibly give Iron Man 3 a run for second highest grossing release of 2013.

Newcomer That Awkward Moment settled for third place with just $9 million. That's a new low for Zac Efron who has yet to establish himself as a major box office asset post-High School Musical.

Jason Reitman's latest offering Labor Day came in at number seven with just $5 million against its $18 million budget. Reitman's movies have never opened particularly strong, but have tended to go on to long, successful runs. It's hard to say if Labor Day will follow that trend.
