With the high-octane action thriller Furious 7 fast approaching its highly-anticipated U.S. Premiere in April, fans will undoubtedly flock to the theater to see Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson and the late Paul Walker reprise their roles on the big screen in this next installment to the franchise. Those residing in Abu Dhabi who were expecting to see the explosive sequel at next month's premiere, however, will likely have to reschedule their plans as it looks like Vin Diesel's unborn child has just cancelled the showing.
Fans of the Fast & Furious franchise who had tickets to the March 10 worldwide premiere at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi were likely severely bummed to hear their upcoming showing had hit the skids. According to THR, the above-mentioned Diesel was the one who put the brakes on the big debut for a more pressing issue, the birth of his next child. Diesel and his partner Paloma Jimenez will reportedly welcome the third addition to their family around the same time that Furious 7 will hit theaters on April 3. As a result, the star of the street-racing flick has opted not to go to the Abu Dhabi premiere to assure he will be there for his wife and their soon-to-be-born child. A source close to the matter had this to say:
He wants to be with his family at the birth; it’s a beautiful thing. What human being wouldn’t?
As a result of Diesel's cancellation, Furious 7 will no longer premiere in Abu Dhabi, but rather in Los Angeles on April 1. And Universal should be thrilled at the prospect of the film being launched in the franchise's birthplace.
Furious 7 will center on Dominic Toretto (Diesel), Brian O'Conner (Walker) and their crew as Deckard Shaw (Statham) seeks revenge on them for the death of his brother, Owen (in Fast & Furious 6). After the crew learns one of their own, Han, has been killed, they also seek to find the man responsible.
Furious 7 made a huge splash with its Super Bowl trailer released earlier this month. It was so well received that it was even crowned the #1 movie trailer debuted during the big game, according to fans. The high-profile action movie also just released its newest trailer a few days back, which you can check out below:
