2014's John Wick is a pretty intense film, if we do say so ourselves. Gun play, ass kicking and just general bad-assery fill the film's relatively short run time, with Keanu Reeves navigating the torrent of opposition in front of him through some very sharp skills. That said, director Chad Stahelski is promising a lot more to come with next year's John Wick: Chapter Two, with Reeves preparing to strap in for some of his most demanding stunt work yet.

John Wick Keanu Reeves

Stahelski, one of the two directors who brought John Wick to life on the big screen, recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his solo directorial effort on the sequel. His promise for the level of thrills and spills in the next chapter are pretty bold, with the following specifics in play:

I would say we had twice as much action as the first movie. We took it all a full notch up as far as the driving car stuff went. A great portion of the car chase in the opening of the film is Keanu, which is very impressive.

While we're still waiting for a trailer, or even more photos, from John Wick: Chapter Two, we at least know that John's next adventure will start with a tremendous car chase. Even better is the fact that Keanu Reeves will be doing a lot of his own stunt driving, which is probably the most impressive skill Reeves has acquired for this on-screen persona. At least, it's his most impressive skill besides his terrific marksmanship, which is readily on display in the video included below.

While we don't doubt that John Wick: Chapter Two will have a boat load of thrills, we're still cautiously optimistic about the film having at least twice the action as the original film. Unless the twist to Keanu Reeves' next film is that he'll be facing off against an evil, clone version of himself. Ok, so that's not going to happen, but it'd be a fun idea to play with if John Wick: Verse Three ever becomes a reality. For now, we'll settle for some action that puts Keanu behind the wheel, as well as on camera next to Lawrence Fishburne once again. Other folks who will be taking part in the insanity include Common, John Leguizamo, BridgetMoynahan, Ian McShane and Thomas Sadoski. The action will also be moved to Rome this time around, as John finds himself fighting some of the world's most ruthless killers. Still, considering what we've seen from John in the first movie, we don't give his adversaries high odds for survival.

John Wick: Chapter Two turns the page with its fists on February 10, 2017.
