Folks, it's almost time. In just a little over two months the world will be able to feast their eyes upon the next chapter in the Star Wars saga with Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The wait for the return of Rey, Finn, Poe and all of the classic characters has nearly become unbearable, but now finally we have this epic new trailer to satiate us for another day!
The brand new Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer launched tonight during Monday Night Football, and our excitement for the movie is definitely nearing a peak. It's amazing that it's been nearly two full years since we last saw these heroes and villains back on the big screen, but we couldn't be more ready for the next adventure. There is a ton of new footage featured here that we didn't see any of in the original teaser, and it leaves us with a lot to unpack.
Like the first ever teaser for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, this trailer once again starts with a voice-over from Supreme Leader Snoke (played by Andy Serkis), featuring a monologue that the villain is presumably giving to his protege, Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). The big difference, however, is that this time around we actually get to see him in the flesh. After appearing as only a hologram in The Force Awakens, we now know what Snoke really looks like... at least in close-up.
But that is hardly the only big reveal to be found in this new trailer. Having already killed Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Kylo Ren seem to be on a mission to murder his mother, General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher); Luke seems terrified at the natural power that exists in Rey's connection to the Force; we see a preview of an awesome battle between Finn (John Boyega) and Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie); and it's blatantly suggested that Star Wars: The Last Jedi will feature a peaceful union between Rey and Kylo Ren. That's a lot to take in, and we're still not fully sure how it will all come together to form the movie's main narrative.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi, easily one of the most highly-anticipated films left to come out in 2017, will be flying in to a theater near you on December 15th - and we recommend keeping your eyes peeled here on CinemaBlend in the coming hours, as we'll have a ton of editorial content coming your way analyzing the new trailer!
