It's time to get WCKD one last time as Maze Runner: The Death Cure brings The Maze Runner trilogy to an epic close. While the film was supposed to originally be completed and released around this time last year, an on-set accident with star Dylan O'Brien injured him enough to bump the film's production schedule. And with that bump came a release date shift to an advantageous 2018 date, as well as another project for O'Brien to sink his teeth into, last year's American Assassin. But now, the time is right, and the stage is set for Thomas and his friends to finish the journey they started back in 2014. And with this return comes our latest chance to rate and discuss the big ticket film of the weekend!

Now you're probably wondering if Maze Runner: The Death Cure is worth it for anyone outside of the fandom built around James Dashner's novels and director Wes Ball's film trilogy. Surely, there's a chance that this final installment could stand alone as a film that fans and newbies alike could enjoy. Unfortunately, according to our own Dirk Libbey, that isn't exactly the case, as his official review had this to say:

Maze Runner: The Death Cure is for diehard Maze Runner fans only. Between the extended wait, the extended length, and the characters without character, it's unlikely anybody else will have the constitution required to get the end of this maze.

It looks like if you want to play in The Maze Runner's sandbox, you need to come prepared. So if you haven't seen those first two films, and have somehow stuck around this far, bookmark this page and come back to further discuss the movie.
