Subscribe To Hero Blend #76: 6 Projects The X-Men Franchise Should Announce For An Upcoming Slate Updates
The future is full of DC Comics and Marvel Studios movies. Between the two companies, there are at least 21 films coming out between now and 2020. That kind of future planning does not really exist for 20th Century Fox and their X-Men franchise, however. Next year the studio has Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse and Tim Miller’s Deadpool (with the director-less Gambit also still on the schedule), but beyond that there’s really just James Mangold’s untitled Wolverine 3 and Josh Boone’s New Mutants (which doesn’t actually have a release date yet). In comparison to its competitors, it’s a pretty empty slate – but we have some ideas on how they can fix that.

The good news for Fox is that there are many directions to take the X-Men franchise post-Apocalypse, as Marvel Comics spent years developing new titles and runs for various mutant characters. It’s keeping all of those titles in mind that led to this week’s episode, naming six projects that should at the very least now be in active development at the studio.

Joining me for this episode is CinemaBlend’s own Sean O’Connell, who brings to the table three very interesting if not potentially controversial ideas of his own. Watch the episode, and hit the comments below with your own suggestions for future X-Men movies!
