A new sex scandal involving two of Donald Trump's staffers came to light this week. The story involves Jason Miller, a married staffer who formerly served as a spokesperson during the presidential campaign, and A.J. Delgado, who worked as a transition advisor. Apparently, the two staffers had an affair that resulted in the birth of a child.
From the sounds of it, the affair happened on the night before the final debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in October of 2016. According to Page Six, Jason Miller and A.J. Delgado went with other staff members and people from the press to have a rowdy night in Las Vegas, Nevada. The group attended a strip club, and afterward, the night continued for Miller and Delgado. Now the two share a newborn son.
A.J. Delgado confirmed the news on Twitter. She tweeted,
Dear friends: Beyond thrilled to share with you that I'm now the proud mother of a beautiful son (!), William!!!
Last December, A.J. Delgado tweeted cryptic messages after Jason Miller was vetted to become the White House communications director. On the day Miller got nominated, A.J. Delgado took to social media for some uncomfortable teasing. She likened Miller to "The 2016 version of John Edwards." (Edwards was John Kerry's candidate for vice president in 2004. Edwards had a kid as a result of an extramarital affair he had with his mistress, Rielle Hunter, during that campaign.) But Delgado did not stop with that post. She then tweeted,
Congratulations to the baby-daddy on being named WH Comms Director!
Two days later, Jason Miller turned down the position he had been offered and resigned from working at the White House. Then, about a month later, Miller and his wife welcomed a second child.
A.J. Delgado deleted the eyebrow-raising tweets. Reportedly, she got a different phone number and moved to Florida. There was silence from her end until she hopped on Twitter the other day to announce the birth of her "beautiful son" with Jason Miller. Miller then confirmed that the baby is his. Moreover, he said his wife planned to stick with him in spite of the news. In a statement, Miller said,
My wife and I, along with our two daughters, are excited to welcome William into the world and into our family, and we appreciate the well wishes we've received from so many.
But the plot thickens. Jason Miller and A.J. Delgado supposedly are not on speaking terms and have not communicated (except through attorneys) since Delgado told him she was pregnant. After Miller had issued the statement, A.J. Delgado tweeted,
And I'm not sure what Jason means that he and his wife are excited to welcome Will. Really? News to me. Let me shut up before I say more...
Yikes! This ordeal sounds like a mess. Hopefully, everybody can move forward for the sake of the (multiple) kids involved.
