Brandon Routh, best known for playing Superman, and his wife Courtney Ford, best known for being on True Blood, have become parents. The thirty-four-year-old actress gave birth to a healthy baby boy yesterday, and by all accounts, the couple is over the moon excited. The little guy weighed in at eight pounds exactly and was just over twenty inches.
According to People, Brandon and Courtney have selected Leo James as the name, which is about as inside the box and classy as I’ve ever seen a famous couple go. Both mother and child are said to be doing very well, with Routh telling the outlet his wife was like a “rock star” during the birth.
The famous twosome announced her pregnancy back in March after months of carefully hiding it. They reportedly wanted to keep the news to themselves for as long as possible, but it eventually became too hard to continue making up little excuses. Plus, she’s in that age window in which friends are ready to guess pregnancy as the cause of anything even the least bit strange.
Pop Blend sends outs its congratulations to Routh and Ford as they move on with this new chapter in their lives. Raising children isn’t easy, but it’s is rewarding and if done correctly, can bring a couple even closer. Here’s to hoping we’ll be reporting a med school graduation in just under three decades.
Enthusiastic about Clue, case-of-the-week mysteries, the NBA and cookies at Disney World. Less enthusiastic about the pricing structure of cable, loud noises and Tuesdays.
