Comedian Jackie Mason's Girlfriend Arrested For Domestic Assault

Beloved comedian Jackie Mason wound up full of scratches and surrounded by police officers this morning after an argument with his girlfriend wound up getting physical. The seventy-six-year-old reportedly got scared and tried to alert the doorman of the domestic situation but was prevented from doing so by his forty-eight year old significant other Kaoru Suzuki-McMullen. He reportedly eventually got control of the phone to call 911 but not before she left a few bruises on his arms.

According to TMZ, Suzuki-McMullen was arrested once authorities arrived, and she was taken to the station where she was hit with a misdemeanor assault charge. If she has no prior convictions, the incident could well prove a slap on the wrist. As for how it will affect the relationship, only time will tell.

I’ve yet to hear a theory as to what the couple might have been squabbling about, but almost fifty years ago, Mason was banned from The Ed Sullivan Show for supposedly giving the legendary host the middle finger. The comedian called the situation a misunderstanding at the time; however, it took a full two years for him to be invited back. Maybe his more aggressive digit did a little wandering again five decades later. Then again, maybe it was something as pedestrian as where to brunch at that got the blood boiling.

Regardless of why it happened, Pop Blend wishes Mason and Suzuki-McMullen the best of luck in figuring out where to go from here. If this was an isolated incident, maybe another chance is warranted. If this was the latest in a string of heated exchanges, maybe it’s best to simply pack it in.
