Constantine Maroulis Headed Back To Broadway As Jekyll And Hyde

Past American Idol contender Constantine Maroulis had a nice run on Broadway, performing as the lead for three years in the wildly successful musical Rock of Ages. Life after his Tony Award winning performance has seen him trend back toward the popular music realm, with his debut album However, but that may now be about to change thanks to another on stage gig.

Maroulis is set to play in Jekyll and Hyde, a revival of the original 1997 musical. Not only will he get to play a part in the awesome story, based a bit on the Robert Louis Stevenson title, he will actually get to play the awesomely complicated titular role. With his crazy hair and devious smile, I believe Maroulis will be up for the challenge.

Jekyll and Hyde will begin its run with a 25-week tour across the United States. According to The Washington Post, the tour will begin in San Diego, California on October 2. After trekking across the country, the show will set up shop in New York in 2013. Coincidentally, Maroulis will land on Broadway again just a few months before Adam Shankman’s Rock of Ages movie (with Maroulis in a bit part) hits theaters.

Here’s to hoping the new run of Jekyll and Hyde does a little better than its counterpart. Even if it doesn’t, Maroulis seems like the type of guy who is bound to land on his feet.
