Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore may have broken up to huge tabloid fanfare more than a year ago, but in the time since, they really haven’t made any forward progress on actually ending their marriage. He got excited about his new relationship with Mila Kunis. She wound up in rehab dealing with some substance abuse problems, and long story short, they’re still legally together. If the former That 70s Show star has his way, however, the union will officially be over shortly.

According to TMZ, Kutcher was hoping Moore would file the proper paperwork to end their marriage, but since that hasn’t happened, he officially hired an attorney and submitted a petition for divorce this week. No monetary agreements have been struck between the two parties, but considering they weren’t together that long and both entered the relationship and will leave the relationship with incredible earning potentials, it’s unlikely there will be a long drawn out battle over the last few million dollars.

Neither Ashton nor Demi has released a statement about ending their union in the eyes of the law, but if either does decide to go public with his or her feelings, we’ll let you know what they have to say. Until then, Pop Blend’s sincerest thoughts go out to these two as they move on apart. They had a good run, but clearly, they weren’t made to be together over the long haul.
