The Killers Already Planning A New Album

It feels like it has only been a few weeks since The Killers put out a fourth studio album, Battle Born. While it has actually been a few months since The Killers dropped the album in September of 2012, it still seems mighty early to be thinking about producing a new album, but that’s exactly what the band is saying has happened.

The Killers usually spend at least a couple of years producing an album, and the gap between 2008’s Day and Age and 2012’s Battle Born was even longer due to the group deciding to go on a hiatus. Regardless, ever since the band has reunited, the group has been working fast and furiously. Drummer Ronnie Vanucci recently spoke with The Daily Star, noting that work on a fifth studio album has actually already begun.

"I hope there's a new album soon. We've been working on stuff. We were in the studio just the week before last. I want to put out a new record now but it's about getting us all on same page."

The Killers might already be excited about the possibility of producing new music, but it may take a little while to really get into the groove, as the guys are still on tour promoting Battle Born. Next month, the group will play a date in Paris, before returning to the U.S. in April and playing dates across the U.S. The band will end the tour in June with a date at Wembley Stadium in London. Hopefully, the guys will get excited about playing some of the new fodder Vanucci is alluding to while on the road.
