I was really hoping Mena Suvari’s second marriage would be a happily ever after kind of affair. The actress' nuptials to music producer Simone Sestito in the summer of 2010 seemed like a dreamy, romantic affair replete with vows spoken in a private little church in Vatican City. Alas, the romance must have faded sometime since the ceremony, because the couple is headed to divorce court.
Suvari headed down to the Los Angeles Superior Court this week to file for divorce from Sestito. Documents state the couple have been apart since November 1, 2011, which means she’s had a good 2 ½ months to think about it. The document also cite “irreconcilable differences” as the couple’s cause of separation. According to E!Online, Suvari also asked the court to withhold spousal support. I don’t know whether or not she had him sign a prenup, but if she didn’t, I’m wondering what Sestito will have to say about the lack of support?
It’s always sad when couples break up, and especially sad when they’ve given a marriage a go and figured out fairly quickly that it will not work. Pop Blend’s heart goes out to Suvari, especially since this was the 32 year-old actresses' second union. Hopefully, if she does decide wedding bells are in the air once more, she will be able to find someone who is willing and able to give her a lifelong commitment and who will keep her happy. A fairytale wedding should just be the beginning, not the beginning of the end.
