For all of Marvel's critical success on the silver screen and on Netflix, but things have gone somewhat rockier in the world of broadcast TV. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D continues to thrive on ABC, but Agent Carter recently became one of the latest series to get the axe from the network, and we haven't seen much on the horizon with the potential to replace it. However, there's one notable Marvel TV project that fans have wanted to see for quite some time: Marvel's Most Wanted. The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D spin-off currently remains dead over at ABC, but now some incredibly passionate fans have started a petition, hoping to make the pilot available for public consumption. Needless to say, we're completely on board with the proposition.
People have used Change.org for years, but the one of the latest petitions to come out of the website is something that Marvel fans should take notice of immediately. A user by the name of Dominic Ryland-Jones recently started a petition that implores Marvel to make the Marvel's Most Wanted pilot available for public viewing. The petition started three months ago, and (as of the writing of this article) currently needs around 135 signatures to reach its 1,500 goal as the number of acquired signatures slowly but surely continues to rise.
There's a very clear amount of fan enthusiasm to see Marvel's Most Wanted actually happen. The cancelled series centered on fan-favorite Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D characters, Lance Hunter and Bobbi Morse a.k.a Mockingbird, who found themselves written off AoS when Marvel decided to give them a spin-off of their very own. Everything went well, but when the pilot was actually submitted to ABC by Marvel, the network rejected the project, thus ending Marvel's Most Wanted's very short existence. Now with this petition fans have made it clear that they want their collective voice to be heard.
Check out the video accompanying the Change.org petition below:
As previously stated, we're most certainly in agreement with the objective of this petition. Mockingbird and Lance Hunter have become two of the best characters in the history of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and their story deserves far more attention from ABC. With no spin-off series, ABC has essentially removed them from the MCU for no apparent reason whatsoever. The petition doesn't even call for the network to reconsider and make an entire season worth of episodes; the fans just want to see something that's already wrapped production. If all goes well and fans respond properly to it, Marvel's Most Wanted could theoretically replace Agent Carter down the line, which is something ABC currently needs.
