Reality TV worlds collided and clashed pretty damn hard when Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss suggested Khloe Kardashian might be the next Bachelorette. You probably know that Khloe is suffering through another round of cheating scandal coverage, this time over Tristan Thompson possibly cheating with one of Kylie Jenner's best friends.
So Khloe is apparently single enough that her name got dragged into several tweets from Bachelor producer Mike Fleiss, teasing out the idea that she might be in negotiations as the 2019 star. She was NOT having it:
Tweets may be free speech, but Khloe Kardashian seemed to suggest she might lawyer up for a harassment/libel/other charge if he didn't quit it. Mike Fleiss replied to Khloe's f-bomb tweet by acting like he was just trying to help her find love:
After that, perhaps sensing his loss, Fleiss seemed to try to take a shot at Khloe for lacking a sense of humor about the whole thing:
If Mike Fleiss had only tweeted once about the idea, yeah, you could consider it maybe just a light joke. But he kept stringing fans along. Khloe's sister Kim Kardashian West tried to deflect from the situation by calling out his tweets as fake news:
Mike Fleiss continued to act like he was in secret negotiations, dragging Kim and Khloe's mother Kris Jenner into the conversation. So Kim basically called his bluff...
So Kim Kardashian shared a text chain between Khloe and Kris, showing there were no conversations being had:
As much as The Bachelor producer was dragged through this, he probably loved the attention. And as much as Khloe may not appreciate this extra attention, Kris Jenner probably didn't mind too much, since reality TV drama is her family's bread and butter. Just saying.
No one really has the high ground in a war between The Bachelor and Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
All that said, ABC does need to pick someone to be The Bachelorette for the spring 2019 season. It will probably be someone from Colton Underwood's current season of The Bachelor. That's how it usually works. They have never had a celebrity Bachelorette, every single one has come from a past season of The Bachelor. (Unlike the early year Bachelors being selected from Who Knows Where.)
The Bachelor 2019 is continuing, and pretty soon we'll be getting to Colton's fantasy suite/overnight dates episode, which is when he's meant to jump that fence. An ABC exec recently said Colton's finale is insane, and goes off the rails in a strange way. Fans will be talking about what happened, he said.
The Bachelor continues Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, as one of the many shows airing in midseason 2019.
