It's The End Of An Era As Ryan Seacrest Announces Departure From Red Carpet Coverage With Sweet Message

Ryan Seacrest is stepping down. After a tumultuous year which saw him take a little time off of work due to strain (and people thinking he had a stroke on air), Seacrest has decided to cut back and drop one of his most notable gigs. That’s right, it’s the end of an era as Ryan Seacrest will be leaving E’s Red Carpet team. He's been a part of the awards show team on E! for so long now, it's almost hard to remember a time when he wasn't.

Ryan Seacrest has basically been known over the years as the go-to name in Red Carpet coverage. He has a savvy way of switching topics between fashion and the actors and actresses projects themselves. He’s clearly a person who loves entertainment, and because of that audiences have loved to watch him ahead of major awards events.

Now, after 14 years that is ending. Ryan Seacrest announced in a dapper post that he will be stepping down and saying sayonara to one of the gigs who made him a household name. Though, he was sure to thank his loyal audience in the process.

According to Ryan Seacrest’s Instagram post, the decision wasn’t an easy one. He credited longtime red carpet partner Giuliana Rancic for helping to make the shows so great. He thanked the fans, as noted prior, but he also made sure to mention the E! Team who has poured their lives into the red carpet show. Class act, that.

After 14 years of hosting E!’s Live from the Red Carpet I’ve decided to move on to new adventures. I’ll miss the whole crew that works so hard behind the scenes and of course my amazing partner Giuliana. Thanks to everyone for watching all these years.

For her part, Giuliana Rancic had to pull out of E!'s Live From the Red Carpet show in September of 2020. The 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards were that month, but Rancic unfortunately tested positive for Covid-19. With an additional slew of awards coming up, including the Golden Globes (whose nominations were already announced) and Oscars, it looks as if the TV duo will go out with little fanfare. We already saw their last awards run; there will be no victory lap.

The good news is there’s already video footage of some of the dynamic duo’s best moments, which you can check out below.

Of course, fans will still be able to catch him in a suit. The longtime TV personality will still be hosting American Idol as it heads into its 19th season, now on ABC. He also can be heard on his popular radio program and still appears weekdays with Kelly Ripa on Live with Ryan and Kelly! And that’s not even touching on his producing work. So, the E! Carpet announcement may be the end of an era, but it’s certainly not the end of Ryan Seacrest.
