Colt Bennett (Ashton Kutcher) smiles on The Ranch

So many viewers have enjoyed Jeopardy! over the years, watching as Alex Trebek would call out trivia clues for contestants to solve. Getting to compete on the iconic game show would definitely be a treat, but what would honestly be even more gratifying is actually being a clue. This happens to celebrities quite frequently, with Ashton Kutcher being the latest to experience the cool moment. And as you would imagine, he’s understandably pumped about it!

This past Monday’s episode of Jeopardy! featured a category called “Counting On Television,” which included a question (or answer) related to classic Fox sitcom That ‘70s Show. When reading it off, guest host Aaron Rodgers said, “That '70s Show helped launch the careers of Mila Kunis, Topher Grace, and this actor who played Michael Kelso,” and a contestant correctly answered, “Who is Ashton Kutcher?” Well, some time after the show, Kutcher took to Twitter to react to being name-dropped on the show:

It’s safe to say Ashton Kutcher pretty much reacted the way any of us would if we were mentioned on Jeopardy! in any form or fashion. Having your work recognized is one thing but to actually be mentioned as a clue is a testament to how one someone or something has been firmly within the pop culture zeitgeist.

Of course, Ashton Kutcher is far from the only celebrity to react after being mentioned on Jeopardy!. Big Bang Theory alum Johnny Galecki provided a perfect response when he was referenced on the show, as did comedian Dane Cook. Filmmaker Rian Johnson also couldn’t help but respond after his 2019 whodunit, Knives Out, served as a clue on the show.

But in some rare cases, a celebrity, TV show or film is given an entire category, and this was the case for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. When seeing how the show utilized him, Johnson couldn’t help but express his joy and gratitude on social media in a way only he can.

Ashton Kutcher’s experience and those of his fellow celebrities are just a few ways in which Jeopardy! has made dreams come true over the years. At present, the show is continuing to do this by having guest hosts, some of which are longtime fans of the show like Aaron Rodgers and Mayim Bialik. With every one of their appearances, each host gets to put their own stamp on the show, ultimately carving out a place for themselves in Jeopardy!’s illustrious history in the process.

Ashton Kutcher certainly won’t be the last celebrity to receive a shout-out on Jeopardy!, and you can bet loyal viewers will continue to look out for mentions of their favorite stars. And when those inevitably happen, it’ll be fun to see if and how said stars choose to react.

Jeopardy! is available to watch in syndication daily.
