Jaime Pressly Thanks Earl For Keeping Her Acting

Jaime Pressly says she was thrilled to be able to play a more buttoned-up, conservative character in I Love You Man, at least in comparison to the wild and rednecky Joy on My Name Is Earl. But talking to her at the junket for her new movie, in which she plays the best friend of Rashida Jones's character, it was clear that Pressly's heart is clearly back on set with Jason Lee and company.

"It is the greatest job on the planet. It really is," she told us when asked about life on the Earl set. "Because everybody loves going to work. Because we all truly adore each other, really enjoy each other's company. We all know each other so well now, that our families are all friends. The kids all play together. We all genuinely respect and admire each other. There's not a bad seed in the group, and there's no drama."

She also credited the show's creator, Greg Garcia, with giving her the motivation to continue with an acting career after years of roles she wasn't necessarily proud of. "If it wasn't for Greg Garcia giving me the opportunity to show what I can do, and giving me the role of Joy, I might not even be in the business anymore. [He] came around and wrote a brilliant character for a woman, which is very rare, and kind of changed my perception." She then laughed and added, "So did an Emmy-- it didn't hurt. "
