American Horror Story's Frances Conroy Joins Royal Pains For Season 5

USA’s Royal Pains is bringing in an American Horror Story star for a guest arc in Season 5 along with a number of other guest stars. Frances Conroy will come in to do a multiple-episode arc. Meanwhile, they’ve upped Ben Shenkman, who plays Dr. Jeremiah Sancani, to a regular role on the series, which started production on the new season just last week after being renewed back in September.

Royal Pains stars Mark Feuerstein as Hank, a doctor to the rich and powerful who inhabit the posh Hamptons. Deadline says Frances Conroy will join the series as a neighbor to Hank, Blythe Ballard, who is one of those rich people. She joins a guest list for the upcoming season that includes Callum Blue (The Tudors) who has a recurring role, Stephen Bishop (Moneyball), Kevin Kilner (House of Cards), and Liza Papiri (Don’t Trust the B---- in Apt 23).

Frances Conroy has most recently been seen in American Horror Story and is set to return for the upcoming third season. She previously starred in a very memorable role in HBO’s hit Six Feet Under, which earned her four Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe win. She has also done guest arcs on How I Met Your Mother and United States of Tara.

Royal Pains is set to air its 13-episode fifth season this summer, and will be filming in Savannah, overseas, and then back at home in New York. We’ll let you know when USA sets a premiere date for the show’s return.
