It's October, and we're just a few weeks away from the premiere of American Horror Story: Asylum. Previously, FX has released numerous twisted looking teasers, none of which make all that much sense as far as figuring out the plot. But they did serve to whet our appetites for the new story set to be told in the series' second season. The latest video to arrive gives us a look at the actual series, and includes some very creepy moments.

As you may have heard already, the second season of American Horror Story will tell a new story. American Horror Story: Asylum is set in an institution for the criminally insane, and judging by what we've seen so far, it isn't set in the present day. The trailer below gives us a look at Jessica Lange's character, a ruler-slapping nun, as well as some of the other characters, many of whom appear to be among the patients/inmates.

Jessica Lange is seated next to a patient (Evan Peters?) with his eyes pinned open (horrifying), telling him that there he'll repent to the only judge that matters. Should we assume she's referring to God and that Lange's Sister Jude is going to be a very strict (scary) nun who thinks she's acting on behalf of the Man upstairs? Just a bit of random speculation, but she doesn't exactly come across as the friendly-type in this video.

Beyond Lange, we get plenty of scary moments, including the sight of someone running, someone crying, someone covering their ears as glass shatters, people screaming and the sight of someone appearing to fly up and hit the ceiling. There was also one or two steamy moments thrown in there for fun.

American Horror Story premieres October 17 on FX.
