Downton Abbey fans will recognize Lesley Nicol as the occasionally bossy but well meaning and efficient (when she can see) cook Beryl Patmore in the British series. And now it looks like she's headed over to network television on this side of the pond for a guest starring role in the current season of ABC's Once Upon a Time.
TV Line reports that Lesley Nicol has been booked for a guest role later this season. Details on the role the British actress will play are scarce at this point, however, from what the site reports, she'll have "a special connection to the Snow White family." That's about as vague as it can get, so we'll have to wait and see what her character is all about.
Those eagerly awaiting the return of Once Upon a Time for its second season have only to wait until this Sunday for the storybook drama's return. In the meantime, there's a good chance we'll see her in the Season 3 premiere of Downton Abbey, which also happens to premiere this Sunday night (on PBS Masterpiece).
This is the second bit of casting news for Once Upon a Time this week. Earlier this week we shared word that Sonequa Martin-Green, whose recent credits include The Walking Dead, was also joining Once Upon a Time, though in her case, she's playing a recurring role, which could carry over into Season 3. It sounds like Nicol's role is just a guest spot for an episode, though TVLine doesn't actually specify whether her appearance involves multiple episodes.
