Elizabeth Perkins Joins ABC Comedy Pilot How To Live With Your Parents...

Weeds certainly hasn’t been the same since Elizabeth Perkins left, and while it may be too much to hope for an appearance by Celia Hodes in the new season of the Showtime drama, we may be getting Perkins back on television.

Among the pilots in development for ABC is a comedy by Claudia Lonow called How to Live with your Parents for the Rest of Your Life. Sarah Chalke is already on board to star as Polly, a divorced single mother who moves back in with her parents, who are described as eccentric, and full of life but lack boundaries. Deadline reports that Perkins has been cast to play the part of Elaine, Polly’s mother. Apparently, the role was originally written a little bit older but it was “reworked” for Perkins.

This is certainly a fun bit of casting news, especially for those of us who loved her as Celia in Weeds. She certainly knows how to be funny. Perkins’ appearances since Weeds have been slim, with just a few credits to her name, including Hop, and an episode of The Closer. She was cast in a pilot last year called Vince Uncensored, which didn’t go to series. Hopefully she’ll have better luck with this one.?
