Bryan Fuller's Mockingbird Lane, a remake of the 60s hit series The Munsters, didn't get picked up by NBC but after the pilot aired to decent numbers as a Halloween special on Friday night, there is still a glimmer of hope for the show. And for those of us wanting more Fuller, we still have a lot to look forward to with a guaranteed 13 episodes of Hannibal, his take on Thomas Harris' iconic character, coming early next year.

One of the first projects from Gaumont International TV, who are also in the Nicolas Winding Refn Barbarella business, Hannibal is a loose adaptation of (or prequel to) "Red Dragon" and stars Mads Mikkelsen as the cannibalistic psychiatrist, Hugh Dancy as his partner in solving crime Agent Will Graham and Laurence Fishburne as Agent Jack Crawford not to mention Caroline Dhavernas, Gina Torres and Lara Jean Chorostecki in key supporting roles.

The network hasn't released much to promote the show so far but these newly shared stills, via EW, finally reveal Mikkelsen in character as Hannibal as well as showoff Dancy, Fishburne and even first episode director David Slade. Take a look at the titular, uh, hero preparing a few meals and looking rather dapper while enjoying them.

Here are two more looks at the series, this time focussing on Mikkelsen's co-lead, Hugh Dancy. It looks like Agent Graham doesn't mind getting bloodied up while on a case or walking briskly down a government hall with his boss played by Fishburne.

All three male leads are perfectly cast and I'm looking forward to seeing them in action. It'd be nice to get a glimpse of the talented female cast as well, but I guess that will have to wait until the next batch of photos or a trailer. I'd prefer the latter and sooner rather than later. What do you think of the photos?
