Greediness Doesn't Pay On New GSN Show

You know how they say that game shows are all about being greedy and getting as much money as you can get away with? Well, the new Game Show Network show How Much Is Enough? is out to prove you wrong! And you know how everything the British do is overly complicated and smarter than Americans can handle? OK, maybe this show isn’t going to prove that one wrong. In any case, American icon Corbin Bernsen will be hosting the new show, making his debut as a game show host.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, How Much Is Enough premieres on January 8, with at least 40 half-hour episodes already ordered. A group of players closely follow the “Money Clock,” which counts up dollar amounts from $1,000-$5,000. Each player secretly buzzes in the money amount that they want, with the trick being that the greediest player-- the person who buzzes in last-- wins nothing. Therefore the players are aiming for the second highest amounts.

At the end of five rounds the top two players face off against each other, once again with the Money Clock ticking. The first person to buzz in is the winner, but the trick is to go home with as much money as you can-- without being greedy!

Personally, I’m psyched. The Game Show Network is a serious weakness of mine-- I mean, when do you not want to watch a re-run of Match Game? I like that this show has both a beat-the-clock and beat-your-opponent element to it: none of that dithering they do on Deal or No Deal or--pshaw!-- teamwork you see on Project Runway. This is all about beatin’ your opponent, and beatin’ ‘em good. Kind of like Weakest Link, except without the illogically mean British lady.
