Back in April Hulu announced the news that the streaming video website had made a deal with Disney that included making ABC shows available for viewing on Hulu.com. Anyone who’s struggled to watch ABC shows on the network’s website was surely relieved to know they’d eventually have an easier time getting caught up on their favorite shows once Hulu got a hold of them. Well the day has arrived.

Today Hulu has officially begun unveiling some of their ABC content, starting with a handful of Grey’s Anatomy episodes from the most recent (fifth) season of the series. According to Hulu, there’s plenty more to come:

“Kicking off the launch of ABC on Hulu today is the hit show, Grey's Anatomy. Over the next two weeks, more ABC shows will launch on Hulu as part of our ongoing Hulu Days of Summer promotion, including current hits like I Survived a Japanese Game Show and The Superstars, as well as popular shows like Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty and Scrubs, to name a few.”

Hulu.com, for those unfamiliar with the site is an ad-supported streaming video website that hosts full episodes of various TV shows, ranging from cancelled series like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and old clips from Saturday Night Live to current series like Chuck and Burn Notice. Until now, ABC shows have not been available on the site and given ABC.com’s unreliable video player, it was somewhat of a hassle to try to watch shows on the network’s website. It’s great to see the deal Hulu made with ABC begin to come to fruition for those of us who are fans of the network’s series.
