Could Jerry Seinfeld be replacing Conan O’Brien as host of The Tonight Show? If the rumors are to be believed, it seems NBC may very well be heading toward that decision.

Popeater.com posted this bit of information today, stating that their source says with a 52% drop in The Tonight Show’s viewership, “NBC just can’t carry on like this.” While Seinfeld might be at the top of the list of potential replacements, Popeater says getting him would be a longshot. Meanwhile, Conan’s people are denying the rumor completely and NBC spokesperson Drew Shane said, “Completely false. There are no conversations happening. Conan is the host of The Tonight Show.

So is it all speculation based on a bad first season for Conan or is he really going to be seeing a pink-slip some time soon?
