Fans of The New Kids on the Block will want to check out Psych tonight as a certain Joey McIntyre is set to make a special appearance on the USA series. That’s the good news. The bad news is, he might be a murderer. Or, his character might, anyway.

McIntyre, once well known and beloved by tweens (before that was a commonly used word) as the youngest of the “five bad brothers from the Beantown land” is set to guest-star on tonight’s episode of Psych. If you’re unfamiliar with the series, it follows a pair of grown friends, Shawn and Gus. Shawn was raised to be especially observant and has honed the skill so well that he makes a living passing as a psychic and using his observational skills to help the police solve crimes.

In tonight’s episode, McIntyre ends up becoming the prime suspect in a murder mystery, as he’s believed to be the “mysterious, masked vigilante dubbed ‘The Mantis.’” Apparently this “villain” is trying to take down a dangerous drug syndicate. From the photo (above) it looks like McIntyre’s character also happens to be a law enforcer.

As mentioned, McIntyre is well known for being one of the New Kids. Whether or not he can act, I couldn’t say, but Psych is a lighter show with some goofier elements, so I’m guessing an overly dramatic performance won’t be required, unless it’s for humorous and intentionally campy purposes.

Psych airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on USA.
