With Battlestar Galactica about to wrap up its final season next year, I’m sure many of us are eager to see what TV projects the actors get signed on for in future shows. Tahmoh Penikett, who plays Helo in BSG is already set to star in Joss Whedon’s new series Dollhouse (set to premiere in 2009). Now it looks like Katee Sackhoff has a starring role in a new series, called Lost and Found.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, saying that Sackhoff will play the role of Tessa, a female LAPD detective who gets assigned to handle John Doe and Jane Doe cases as a punishment for “butting heads with the higher-ups.”

Katee Sackhoff playing a woman who has problems with authority? Hard to picture (insert sarcastic tone here). This will be Sackhoff’s second attempt at a major role in an NBC series. She was featured in NBC’s unsuccessful revival of Bionic Woman last season. For Sackhoff’s sake, hopefully Lost and Found will have better luck.
