NBC Drops Trauma, Orders More Chuck

NBC had good news for Chuck and bad news for Trauma. While the network is set to pick up more episodes of Chuck, it looks as though Trauma will reach the end of its brief run as NBC has opted not to renew the show beyond its original 13-episode order.

It seemed that things were working in Trauma’s favor this week. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the action medical drama saw a boost in ratings this week thanks in part to CBS airing reruns and giving NBC’s line-up a bit more traffic. This prompted the network to schedule a few more weeks of Trauma, however it apparently wasn’t enough to cause them to order more episodes.

Meanwhile, NBC has ordered six more episodes of Chuck for its third season, bringing the episode order to 19 episodes in total. The dramedy isn’t supposed to begin airing until after the Winter Olympics, however rumor has it the show could be coming back to Monday nights in January.
