NBC Game Show Who's Still Standing? Picks Up Ben Bailey To Host

Ben Bailey has the same look as Howie Mandel, but he’s bound to make a better network game show host. For years, Bailey has been hosting Discovery Channel’s sole game show, Ca$h Cab, which gives contestants the opportunity to win money based on their ability to answer trivia questions quickly during cab rides. In the fall, he’ll finally get his big network break, hosting Who’s Still Standing? on NBC.

Who’s Still Standing?, based on the Israeli program Still Standing, will feature a contestant taking down or losing to opponents in trivia battles. A cool million dollars will be on the line. NBC announced the program back in March, but the announcement that Bailey is involved is the first big indication the project is underway.

Paul Telegdy, alternative programming director at NBC was behind the announcement. According to THR, Telegdy affirmed Ben was chosen because he is “Clever, entertaining, and a huge authority in the trivia world.” I’m all for a trivia based game show with a clever host and a clever premise, but I’m really hoping NBC will work on the name choice. The Israelis had it right when they went with the succinct Still Standing. Contrary to what Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? might have to say, punctuation in a title just makes it difficult to discuss. That’s why the title of this story wasn’t “Ben Bailey to host Who’s Still Standing?
