NBC May Bring Back Last Comic Standing

NBC has taken Last Comic Standing off the air twice now, but it looks like they're tapping that well again for Summer 2010, according to Entertainment Weekly. It's been a controversial format from the beginning, with many believing it's just a showcase for established stand-up comedians. I've never had a real problem with it, as long as it's not guys like Ron White or Dave Chappelle.

You can be an established comedian living in your car, so there's still a validity to their being involved on a show like this. NBC is promising a new host and some more jiggering with the format if it does go into full production for the summer. I love stand-up comedy, so I'm a huge supporter of anything that keeps the format alive.

As long as no one brings Jeff Dunham on the show as a mentor or anything, we're good. While they're at it, since it is NBC, they need to find a way to work in Grandma Lee from America's Got Talent. She was on of the funniest "old lady" comedians I've ever seen; and she wrote all her own material!
