Pee-Wee Herman Borrows Melissa Leo's Award Campaign Strategy

Does The Pee-Wee Herman Show on Broadway deserve an Emmy? It’d have my vote (if I had a vote to give). Pee-Wee’s petitioning for an Emmy nomination for the HBO special featuring his Broadway show and has parodied Melissa Leo's Oscar campaign photo.

This bit of self-promotion worked well for Melissa Leo in helping her score a (much deserved) Oscar. Perhaps the photo will work as well for Pee-Wee in getting him an Emmy. In truth, I think the special was good enough to deserve a nomination on its own and if this gets it some added attention leading up to the Emmy nominations, good for him (and everyone involved in the special).

Deadline posted the photo, which features Pee-Wee’s head attached to Leo’s body. It's not the greatest bit of photoshop work, but what works best is that you can see a bit of his trademark red bow-tie under his neck.
