Shakira And Usher Introduced In New Promo For The Voice

Tuesday’s episode of The Voice crowned a winner in the vocally capable and confident Cassadee Pope, but her win also meant ending a three season era at NBC. With judges Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green officially out the door on the hit series, NBC doesn’t want fans to fret. New judges Usher and Shakira are already signed on, and as the show’s newest promotional trailer shows, Season 4 could be a wild ride.

Usher and Shakira hook up with veteran judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton during the promo and, of course, the newbies are forced to sit in the back. Humorously, the four mentors and judges can’t agree on what radio station to listen to and they switch from scream-filled metal music to dubstep, and much more, eventually choosing “Total Eclipse of the Heart” as the winner. The Voice host Carson Daly also cameos in the short clip.

The Voice returns in the Spring of 2013 with all its basic outline intact, and a few new faces in the lineup. Until then, NBC can bask in the network’s ratings success. Deadline is reporting The Voice’s Season 3 finale was up 18% from Season 2, reaching over 14 million total viewers, which is a feat. Perhaps more impressively, the live finale pulled a 4.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which proves the show hits hard in the coveted demographic. We’ll have to wait and see if the new judges will affect viewership in Season 4, for better or for worse. Either way, TV Blend will keep you posted.
