Six Feet Under DVDs 63% Off On Amazon Today

Michael C. Hall seems to have a thing for death. These days he's collecting blood slides as a benevolent serial killer on Showtime's Dexter. Before he was Saran-wrapping baddies to tables in his murder rooms, however, Hall was dealing with already-dead people on HBO's Six Feet Under. Hall played David Fisher, one of a dysfunctional clan of morticians, in the show created by Alan Ball back before he was running a vampire soap opera. If you only jumped on the Hall bandwagon with Dexter and have always been curious to check out his earlier series, today is your chance: Amazon has Six Feet Under: The Complete Series on DVD for $65.99, a full 63% off the list price.

The set -- in a box tastefully designed to remind you of your own impending mortality -- contains all five seasons spread across 24 discs, eight behind-the-scenes featurettes, 25 audio commentaries, deleted scenes, and more. The show itself is occasionally uneven, but it's well worth a watch if you've never seen it. Sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes frightening, the show is an addictive journey through our all-too-short lives and the ways they intersect. It also, to this day, features the single best closing sequence of any show I've ever seen. And if you watched the show, Sia's "Breathe Me" just popped into your head and you got a little misty eyed.

You can click over to Amazon right now to check out the set. Do it soon, however; the sale only lasts for the rest of the day.
