Spartacus War Of The Damned Video Shows Us The New Sets

We're still a few months away from the return of Spartacus for its final season, War of the Damned, but with summer mostly behind and the start of the fall season already beginning to roll out, January doesn't feel so far away. Starz released a video this week that shows us a bit of the making of the upcoming season of the gladiator-focused drama.

The video below gives us a few glimpses at the new season, and has some of the cast (Liam McIntyre, Dustin Clare, Dan Feuerriegel and Cynthia Addai-Robinson), creator Steven DeKnight, executive producer Rob Tapert, production designer Iain Aitken and executive visual effects supervisor Charlie McClellan talking about the set of the new season and what we should expect to see as the story moves forward. This includes making a whole city out of a warehouse!

We see plenty of green screen, but it's also cool to see the real parts of the set that are being built. As mentioned in the video, Spartacus' army is moving south of Italy. As sad as I'll be not to see the familiar ludus and that glorious cliff, I'm excited to see what new settings will be featured in War of the Damned.

For those with a craving for the series, Spartacus: Vengeance was released on DVD/Blu-ray this week. Read our review of for it here.

Spartacus: War of the Damned premieres on Starz January 2013.
