As much as I fought liking Adult Swim's redneck buffoonery on Squidbillies, I fell in love with the show. The characters are so over-the-top and ridiculous, you find yourself laughing at every stereotype they tackle. And if you live in the Midwest, you hang your head in shame at the accuracy of some of it.

Now, Squidbillies is returning for a new season of ten episodes, and even the press release isn't sure if its the fourth or fifth season. That's okay, though, because counting ain't one of Early's strengths. This season, the creators promise more stupidity, actual guest stars both musical and otherwise. Chad Ochocinco will be dropping by, as will Lucinda Williams and Drive-By Truckers.

The season will wrap with a 30-minute all-star musical extravaganza that promises to be as offensive as it is funny. If you can watch five episodes of Squidbillies without becoming a fan, then you're dead inside. I give it five because you're instincts will be to say "This is stupid," through the entirety of the first few.

The new batch of Squidbillies episodes kicks off Sunday, May 16 at 12 AM ET on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.
