CMT has been gearing up for the 2012-2013 season by adding a bunch of new original content to the network’s programming schedule. Fans of the channel will find everything from chainsaw artwork to music memorabilia programming to family members rediscovering the joys of being redneck, but the one thing CMT seems to be missing on its new TV show lineup is some sort of love story, a situation the network seems to be rectifying right now.

CMT’s newest upcoming series is Country Love Story, a biography series that will follow famous musical couples and all the ins and outs of their relationships. According to THR, the show will even focus on minute details, including snippets of songs the featured couple each episode have written for one another. So, if we were to see a Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton episode, there's a good chance we will hear “Let’s Grow Old Together,” the song Shelton wrote for the couple’s wedding ceremony.

Though there is no official release date yet, CMT really seems excited about the upcoming series, having bought the idea from a couple of prolific people is the producing world. Laguna Beach and Teen Wolf producers Liz Gateley and Tony DiSanto are behind the production, via DIGA Vision. If Country Love Story ends up being half as successful as Teen Wolf--which recently upped its number of episodes from 12 to 24—CMT will have a decent program on its hands. I’ll toast a beer to that.
