Get ready for a barage of plays on "Winter is Coming" since Game of Thrones makes its long awaited return to television screens this weekend. The second season premiere of HBO's beloved fantasy series is less than a week away and, in preparation, we've been getting a steady stream of promos including a bunch of new photos that offer the first clear look at many of the show's new characters, as well as shots of returning favorites. This Sunday the journey commences with "The North Remembers" but first it's important to remember, that no matter what house you're from, there is 'Nowhere to Hide.'

The 30-second spot for the second season fits nicely with the parade of promos that HBO has released so far. None have really given away too much, just offer glimpses of things to come while characters from the first season (this time Arya, Cercei and Tyrion) provide some intense narration. "I will hurt you for this and your joy will turn to ashes in your mouth. And you will know the debt is paid." Wow. Big words from The Imp and by the sounds of it, Lannister debts are also always paid even within the family.

And finally, on perhaps a seemingly unrelated note, last night was another big Sunday night return with the huge fifth season premiere of AMC's Mad Men. Why am I bringing up the 1960s set melodrama in an article about Game of Thrones? Well. I'll let Funny or Die answer that...

For those in need of a GoT refresher course before Sunday, be sure to check out this really well made 22 minute recap. DON'T WATCH if you haven't seen Season 1. The second season of Game of Thrones premieres April 1 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. It stars Kit Harrington, Emelia Clarke, Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. The show was created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, based on the novels by George R.R. Martin.
