True Blood Casts Another Werewolf For Season 4

There’s a casting update for HBO’s vampirific series True Blood. Actor Daniel Buran has signed on to play the role of a character who’s most likely connected in some way to Alcide, judging by his description.

According to, Buran is set to play the role of Raoul, “the werewolf packmaster of Shreveport,” which apparently makes him Alcide’s boss. Not having read the books, I can't say if Raoul comes from the original story, but his name might rhyme with “growl,” depending on how it’s pronounced. This is unlikely to be of any relevance but it's amusing to me nonetheless. Alcide seems to be a bit more tame than the others, who are a bit unruly, to say the least. It should be interesting to see what kind of leader Raoul is and whether he's at odds with Alcide or a friend to him. Buran is set to appear in at least seven episodes.

Buran’s previous small screen roles include an episode of Southland, CSI: NY and Criminal Minds.

True Blood Season 4 is set to premiere sometime in Summer 2011.
