Two Broke Girls Preview: CBS Comedy Starring Kat Dennings Premieres Tonight

Headed to CBS’ Monday night comedy block is Two Broke Girls, a multi-camera comedy about two waitresses. It’s probably fair to say that Kat Dennings is the biggest draw for this series. The actress has made a name for herself in films like The 40 Year Old Virgin, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, and more recently, Thor.

In the new CBS comedy, Dennings plays Max Black, a streetwise waitress working two jobs to make ends meet. Beth Behrs plays Caroline Channing, a down-on-her-luck "trust fund princess" who finds herself in need of a job. Together she and Max are “two broke girls.” According to the synopsis, the two women team up to save their money so that they can hopefully start a business.

Based on the previews (including the clip below), I’m guessing a lot of the humor relies on Dennings’ signature dry wit, which should contrast greatly with Caroline’s cluenessness. And their aspirations of starting a cupcake business should, at the very least, justify their need to befriend one another despite their differences.

Two Broke Girls premieres Monday, September 19th at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. (regular timeslot is 8:30 p.m. ET starting September 26th)
