I don’t need people to tell me that Battlestar Galactica is an amazing series. At one time I did but eventually I sucked it up and watched the show, starting with the miniseries and then I finally got it. While I now feel confident in my opinion that BSG is indeed one of the best TV series ever, it’s kind of nice to know that there are others out there who share this opinion. Among them are Buffy creator, Joss Whedon, The Soup’s Joel McHale, Seth Green and others.

Next week, Scifi will air two 30-minute BSG specials that will warm up the BSG timeslot, airing on Friday, March 28th at 10:00 p.m. The first one is called Battlestar Galactica: Revealed and will feature Ron Moore and David Eick as they talk about the characters in the series. Then at 10:30 p.m., Battlestar Galactica: The Phenomenon will air. This special will feature celebrities like Whedon, McHale and Green as well as Anthrax’s Scott Ian, musician Brad Paisley and Law & Orders Jesse L. Martin and S. Epatha Merkerson as they talk about why they love the show.

After watching the clips, I’d recommend Battelstar Galactica: The Phenomenon to people on the fence about watching the show but be warned, they talk about specific stuff from the series that will spoil some fairly major plot twists if you’ve never seen the show before.

Here are some clips from Battlestar Galactica: The Phenomenon:
