The Walking Dead Season 5 Gets A New Banner Ahead Of Comic-Con

The Walking Dead Season 5 has a new banner, and just in time for Comic-Con. The latest artwork for the AMC zombie drama depicts some of the main characters in handcuffs inside the train car. And unsurprisingly, their eyes are on the exit. (Season 4 Walking Dead spoilers ahead!)
AMC has confirmed that the above banner will be displayed at Comic-Con in San Diego this week, and those who've been to SDCC in previous years likely won't be surprised by that. As you might imagine, between the comic book series and the TV show, The Walking Dead has a pretty big presence at the annual event. The banner shows us Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) and Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) all handcuffed inside the train car where we last saw them. They weren't actually handcuffed at the end of Season 4, were they? Regardless, the cuffs remind us that they're there against their will, and their posture and positions indicate that they're not going down without a fight.
Here's a closer look at Rick, Carl and Michonne...
And here we have Daryl, Glenn, Maggie and Abraham.
Not shown in the banner are Beth -- last seen in the trunk of a car -- Tyreese, Carol and Judith -- last seen on their way to Terminus -- and Season 4 additions Eugene, Rosita and Tara, who are also in the railroad car. But those three are sort of represented by Abraham. It's also interesting to note that Daryl has the center spot in the banner, though not surprising, since he's proven to be a major fan favorite...
Norman Reedus will be among the attendees at The Walking Dead panel at Comic-Con this week. The panel will take place in the largest venue at the convention center (Hall H) on Friday, July 25 at 12:20 p.m. Panelists include Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Chad Coleman, Michael Cudlitz, Executive Producer and Showrunner Scott Gimple, EP Gale Anne Hurd, EP David Alpert, EP Robert Kirkman, and EP/Special Effects Make-up Artist Greg Nicotero. Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick will be on board to moderate. We expect to see some footage from Season 5 of The Walking Dead during the SDCC panel. While it won't be the first glimpse of the season, it will hopefully be the first substantial bit of video we'll have to ponder over while we wait for The Walking Dead to return this fall.
